Inventory via URL Feed
The Inventory via URL Feed app lets retailers automatically sync inventory into Quivers by providing a hosted URL that returns data in CSV, JSON, or XML format — no manual uploads or API integration needed. Once activated, you map your file's column headers to Quivers fields and set a sync interval, and Quivers handles the rest on your chosen schedule.
The Inventory via URL Feed app allows retailers to sync inventory into Quivers automatically by providing a hosted URL that returns inventory data. Quivers fetches the file at your chosen sync interval and updates your inventory positions — no manual uploads or direct API integration required.
This is particularly useful for retailers working with third-party inventory data providers (such as Tuplo, Locally, or similar services) that generate inventory feeds at a hosted URL.
How It Works
Once activated, Quivers fetches the inventory file at your configured URL on the schedule you choose. Any valid inventory records in the file are processed and applied to your Quivers inventory positions automatically. You control when and how the file is generated — Quivers handles the fetch and import.
- Supports CSV, JSON, and XML — use whichever format your inventory system or data provider generates.
- Configurable sync interval — choose how often Quivers fetches your feed, from hourly to daily.
- Flexible header mapping — map your file's column names to Quivers fields so you don't need to reformat your exports.
- No manual uploads — once configured, inventory syncs automatically on your chosen schedule.
Setting Up the App
Before you begin, confirm that your inventory feed URL is available and accessible. The URL must use HTTPS and return data in CSV, JSON, or XML format.
Activate the App
- In your Quivers Admin Panel, go to Apps → Marketplace and find the Inventory via URL Feed app.
- Click Add App.
- In the configuration tab, enter your Feed URL in the field provided.
- Click Activate.
Map Headers
Quivers displays your feed's column headers on the left under File Headers, and shows the corresponding Quivers field each one maps to on the right under Quivers Mapping.
If your feed uses different column names than Quivers expects (e.g., your file has item_code instead of UPC), enter the name from your file on the left — Quivers will map it to the correct field on the right.
When your headers are mapped correctly, click Continue.
Select Sync Interval
Choose how often you want Quivers to fetch your inventory feed. The default is Every 24 hours. Select the interval that best matches how frequently your feed URL is updated.
Click Finish Setup to complete the configuration.
Feed Format Requirements
Your feed must include the following required fields. Optional fields can also be included to enrich inventory data.
Required fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| UPC | Product identifier for matching to the Quivers catalog. |
| Stock Quantity | Current in-stock quantity. |
Optional fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Label | A display name or description for the product. |
| Price | Active selling price, if managed through the feed. |
| Store Name | Useful if the feed covers inventory across multiple locations. |
If your feed uses non-standard column names for any of these fields, use the Header Mapping step during setup to map them correctly.
Updating Your Feed URL or Sync Interval
You can update your Feed URL or sync interval at any time from the app settings.
- In your Quivers Admin Panel, open the Inventory via URL Feed app settings.
- On the Sync Interval screen, update the Feed URL field or change the sync interval dropdown.
- Click Save.
Best Practices & Tips
- Verify your URL before activating — Test that your feed URL returns a valid, well-formed file before entering it in the app. An inaccessible or malformed URL will cause the sync to fail.
- HTTPS is required — The feed URL must use HTTPS. HTTP URLs are not supported.
- UPC codes must match the brand catalog — Mismatched UPC/EAN codes will result in unmatched inventory that won't count toward claiming eligibility.
- Match your sync interval to your feed update frequency — If your feed refreshes every 12 hours, set the sync interval to 12 hours or less. Syncing more frequently than the feed updates won't cause errors but won't pull new data until the feed itself changes.
- Update your Feed URL in the app if it changes — If the URL your inventory provider gives you changes, update it in the app settings immediately to avoid a lapse in inventory syncing.
