About Inventory via FTP
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a network protocol for transmitting files between computers, some common FTP applications are FileZilla, Transmit, Cyberduck, etc. Enabling this App will give you access to a folder on a Quivers-hosted FTP server. You will be able to upload inventory files (in CSV format) to this FTP folder. Any valid inventory positions in that file will be processed as inventory positions into the Quivers platform.
How it works
You must have an FTP client application installed on your systems to use this App, such as Filezilla or WinSCP.
A CSV format spreadsheet of inventory positions. The file must contain the following information:
- UPC
- Stock Quantity
If the file format you are using is an export from an inventory management software or point of sale system, you can map the headers of your file format to the headers we are looking to accept. This will prevent you from needing to adjust to the exports that come from your system to be accepted by Quivers.
Configuration
Step 1: Map & Associate headers of your CSV file with Inventory via FTP app.
- Define your CSV headers mapping
- Step 1: Upload your sample file with headers only using the "Upload" button.
- Step 2: After uploading, select your fields and map to the standard headers.
- Step 3: Click on the 'Save' button to save the mapping.
- You can find a sample CSV template file HERE
Step 2: Feed the following details in your FTP client application to establish a connection with our FTP server:
- Host name, Username, Password, and Port Number will be provided
Step 3: After establishing FTP Connection, upload the inventory CSV file in the Remote FTP server’s folder.
Step 4: Observe the dashboard tab for progress/errors.
