Shopping Limits on HoverCart Storefronts

Shopping Limits allow Merchants to control how much or how little of a product is purchased within a HoverCart Storefront.

The Shopping Limits feature is an excellent addition for Merchants that wish to limit Customer purchases for a time period during a sale, for private Storefronts with discounted prices, etc. This article will walk through the layout and configuration of Storefront Shopping Limits.

Enabling Shopping Limits

1. Navigate to the Storefront you wish to apply Shopping Limits to by clicking on "Marketplaces" > "Storefronts

2. Once in the Storefronts overview section, click the blue pencil icon next to the Storefront you wish to update

3. After the Storefront has loaded, click on the "Shopping Limits" tab above the Storefront Settings

4. Lastly, click the "Enable Shopping Limits" toggle (it will turn blue when it is successfully enabled)

*Note: the "Shopping Limits" settings are only applicable to HoverCart configurations in Quivers.

Shopping settings affect the entire Storefront. These settings will control how users are able to shop, and what they are able to purchase. The following functions are included:

Shopping Limits Settings

  • Restrictions Timeframe - There is a formatted date range that can be selected and edited when enabling the shopping settings. This range can be set to whatever year, month, and day you wish for both start and end dates. When set, this date range will determine how long the following settings will apply to the Storefront. When the current date reaches outside of the bounds of the date range, the shopping settings will no longer be applied.

*Helpful Tip: you cannot enable Shopping Limits if a Universal Cart is being used. The toggle for the Universal Cart can be found in "Settings" > "Details" of the Quivers Admin Panel.

Global Limits

  • Total Order Limit - Limits the total amount of orders that can universally be placed on the Storefront
  • Total Purchase Limit - Limits the total $ amount across the entire Storefront. This setting can be left empty to have no effect on the Storefront
  • Per User Limits - Limits the total amount a single user can spend over time, or over multiple orders, within a Storefront
  • Per Purchase Limits - Limits the total amount that can be transacted for a single purchase
  • Product/Category Purchase Limits (Optional) - This setting places a configurable limit on the products and categories presented on the storefront. When enabled, you may limit the number of transactions by product or product category. E.g. product X or products in category "Blizzard > Skis" are limited to a purchase quantity of X, or potentially $Y.

*Helpful Tip: One difference between the bundle discount and these limits is that there is no range of inputs; these limits are universal for the Storefront they are applied.

Which consumer groups are affected?

It is possible to select which consumer groups these settings apply to. These settings will not apply to other consumer groups that have been left unselected. These settings are limited to the consumer groups which are connected to the Storefront.
